Mr Aung honed his skills in corporate business management, strategic planning and trading during the 10 years he spent with State Trading Organization of Maldives, a public limited company owned by the Government of Republic of Maldives. Starting out as an accountant, Mr Aung later worked as a trading manager at the oil trading department before promotion to General Manager at the Maldives National Oil Company in Singapore.

Mr Aung is a member of Singapore Association of Small and Medium Enterprises. He founded Univel in 2005 to provide procurement solutions for resorts in the Maldives. Today, Univel has diverse businesses in trading, distribution and hospitality related consultancy services. He has vast experience working with consultants such as architects, interior designers, project managers as well as established hoteliers and operators.

Mr. Aung has been a business associate of Berthold & Kotthoff since 2010 on various projects before joining Berthold & Kotthoff in 2013 as Managing Partner of Berthold & Kotthoff's Myanmar office. Berthold & Kotthoff is an investment advisory, project management and general hospitality consultancy firm with offices in Republic of Maldives, Sri Lanka and Myanmar.
